MY LEEDS 2003 REVIEW (this is being written from memory so excuse bits missing and
my language!)
Ok the sun was setting over an already purple sky creating an oil painting perfect background.
It was cold but the excitment of finally seeing my favourite band live finally after 3 years was more than enough to keep
my blood boiling! The crowd seemed to knowwhat was coming. I could feel the warm glow radiating from fellow system
fanatics around me. omewherean Armenian flag flew proudly through the surf of the crowd. I myself had made a botch
job of a banner with two canes and a SOAD poster I'd bought earlier.
Maybe it was the sunset, or the quiet calm or more likely the legal highs I;'d sampled earlier
thorughout the day but fuck me I felt like I'd died and gone to heaven when I saw Serj on stage checking out equipment.
My eyes scanned the rest of the stage in some hope that they were starting.
Suddenly the stagelights erupted alight and onstage stood System of a Down.
Sadly this was 2 years ago so i can't remeber the order of the set but I remember jumping
like a woman possessed to Bounce, Chop Suey, Know, Sugar and my fav of that time (and I pray i write this properly) I - E
- A - I - A -I O.
Seven months pregnant or not I going to make the fucking most of this time. sadly some
fuckwit through me into a pit but i survived (after poking the culprit in the eye with a claw ring!). All too soon it
seemed it was over and they were gone. Not saying the set was too long - 60 odd minutes all in all is fucking
great for a second from the top slot. It was too short to me as i lose all sense of time when i listen to and experiance
the joy that is music.
So there you go - wish it did justice but the words don't exist!
